TPS Celebrates Excellent A-Level Results
Students at The Peterborough School celebrated this morning as they collected an excellent set of A Level results, which saw almost, 1 in 4 students gaining an A* or A grade in three or more subjects and 1 in 5 gaining a clean sweep of A* or A grades. All exams were passed, except just one, giving an overall pass rate of 99%.
91% gained places on their chosen courses, ranging from Medicine and Law to Psychology and Maths, reflecting the many strengths of our Upper Sixth cohort.
Individual successes include Deputy Head of School, Emma Clay, who celebrated straight A*s in Biology, Chemistry, English Literature and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), for which she completed an independent research project based on her experience as a hospital ward volunteer. Emma will go on to study Medicine at St Andrews University.
Heads of School, Bethany Cave and Rowan Deem both performed extremely well; Bethany gained an A* in Biology and Psychology, and A grades in Chemistry and Core Maths, whilst Rowan achieved an A* in Maths, and A grades in Chemistry, Economics, Spanish and EPQ. Bethany now takes up her place to study Medicine at Liverpool, and Rowan takes up his place to study Law at London School of Economics (LSE) in September.
Congratulations also to Karina Shah, who gained a clean sweep of A Grades, and Christopher Webb who also did well with three grades at A and A* amongst his results. They will both begin their studies at Nottingham University in September; Karina will study Pharmacy and Christopher will study Maths.
Headmaster, Adrian Meadows, was extremely pleased for the students: “It is incredibly rewarding to see such a remarkable set of results and I am delighted that all the students’ hard work has been recognised. They have all shown an incredible amount of resilience and character, and I know they will continue to thrive throughout the next stage of their educational journey beyond The Peterborough School. As always, I am very grateful to all our staff who have gone above and beyond to ensure each student achieves their very best. I know that I speak for them all as we wish the students the best for the future and look forward to hearing of their new adventures.”
